BQ34Z100-G1: Can I manually change the Update Status in the Data Memory Gas Gauging section?

I am having difficulty getting the Update Status to change from 06 to 04. I am attempting to follow SLUA925 for my 7000 mAh 3S2P battery pack. In bqStudio, with the battery pack being read, I click the command IT_ENABLE to send a 0x21 command, followed by the RESET 0x41 command. I am unable to get the Update Status to switch over from 06 to 04. I am able to double click in the Update Status box and manually type in 04 and Write_All. Will this accomplish the same goal?
