Hello Team,

1. Is there a self-diagnosis function other than the under voltage lockout, current-limit protection, thermal shutdown described in the data sheet? 

2. Is there a possibility that a malfunction may occur due to environmental factors such as a specific temperature within the operating temperature range and operating voltage range described in the data sheet?
Also, is there a possibility that a malfunction may occur at a specific voltage in the same way?
In addition, is there a possibility that a malfunction may occur due to a combination of specific environmental factors and voltage?
If there is a possibility of malfunction, please explain the environmental factors and voltage etc.

3. Are there any other precautions other than those described in the data sheet (TPS7B82-Q1 SLVSDQ0J – SEPTEMBER 2017 – REVISED AUGUST 2023)?

    Thank you for your question.

    1. What do you mean by self-diagnosis functions? Do you mean protection circuitry?

    Protection circuitry for the TPS7B82 device includes: Thermal Shutdown, Undervoltage Lockout, Overcurrent Protection.

    Please find the descriptions of these protection circuitries on page 11 here: TPS7B82-Q1 Automotive 300-mA, High-Voltage, Ultra-Low-IQ Low-Dropout Regulator datasheet (Rev. J)

    2. It is important to not exceed absolute maximum specifications:

    The device will not be able to perform above these ratings.

    It is also important to ensure with the system's power dissipation that the device does not hit thermal shutdown. Otherwise, the device will cycle in and out of thermal shutdown and not be able to perform as intended. 

    Additionally, the customer needs to be aware to keep within the minimum headroom. For example, the minimum headroom should be Vin is Vdropout above the output voltage.

    3. Please use the device as intended. If the device is not used as intended as specified through the datasheet, then we cannot guarantee the datasheet specifications for the TPS7B82 will be met.
