LP8865Y-Q1: ok

Part Number: LP8865Y-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I had gone through the led datasheet and want to understand the below points:

1. Four types of dimming modes.

2. Compensation network means and how it is working in the existing IC.

3. Spread spectrum working in the IC and how it is reducing the EMI/EMC failure.

4. What is IFD function and why capacitor is mandatory for the parallel connection and what value with the Rsense resistor ?

  • HI, Akanksha

May I ask which type of topology you want use for this device?

  • We are using, BUCK - BOOST and BOOST topology for led driving.

  • Hi, Akanksha

Pls see my feedback in below:

    1. Four types of dimming modes.

For PWM dimming, the output current will be constant and it will change the duty; for Analog dimming, the output current will change but the duty cycle is always 100%, for Hybrid dimming, the output current will change in high brightness and the duty will change in low brightness, In flexible dimming, the output current and duty cycle will changed independently.

    2. Compensation network means and how it is working in the existing IC.

Compensation is used to make the device stable.

    3. Spread spectrum working in the IC and how it is reducing the EMI/EMC failure.

In spread spectrum function, the switching frequency is changed in a range so the EMI result in one specific frequency will reduce.

    4. What is IFD function and why capacitor is mandatory for the parallel connection and what value with the Rsense resistor ?

IFD function is used to output a current in low duty cycle. The capacitor is used to make sure the accuracy of the output current.
