LM5163: Negative Output Buck Converter

Part Number: LM5163

Tool/software:

Hi,

Is this schematic ok for inverting buck converter?

Best regards,

  • Hi Ali,

Thank you for designing with the LM5163.  The experts of this device are currently output office.  I studied the datasheet and found your design basically looks okay, but you may need to fine tune the selection of L1 as well as the ripple injection circuit (R281. C262, and C263) for better performance.  You may refer to the Webench for an equivalent 40V to 16V buck design.  Below is an example in which I assumed your load is 0.2A.

Which is equivalent to your inverting buck-boost design for 24Vin and -16Vout if you re-place your ground node as the following markup:

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Youhao

  • Hi  Youhao Xi,
