TPS92612-Q1: Protection for Latch-up

What is the wire length? and please provide the application detailes, like Vin, Vout, Iout, and the PWM signals. Although a diode provides an anti-reverse protection, if its forward voltage affected the dropout voltage (SUPPLY- OUT) of the device, the device can't output sufficient current. additionally, the long wire would affect the dimming performance, especially small duty cycle, please evaluate the operating conditions carefully.

Could you please explain more about what kind of affection of the dimming performance would be considered, and why?

The wire length expected several meters (will be used in automobile interior light)

• For PWM dimming function, please see below. you need to consider the slope of the output. additionally, due to the parasitic parameters of the long wire, noise would be more easily introduced. Dimming performance needs to be paid more attention. If you won't use dimming feature, that wouldn't a problem.

• Since this is device is a linear LED driver, the output current can be well-regulated when there is enough voltage drop across SUPPLY and OUT, for the long wire, the voltage drop on the cable should be considered.
