LM2664: LM2664M6/NOPB

Part Number: LM2664

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I am currently working on a design that incorporates the LM2664M6/NOPB voltage inverter, and I have a query regarding the choice of capacitors for the C+ and C- pins as specified in the datasheet.

Due to space constraints in our design, we are unable to use polarized capacitors at these locations. Instead, we are considering using SMD non-polarized capacitors. Specifically, we are looking at using SMD non-polarized capacitors with a capacitance of 4.7uF.

Could you please confirm if using SMD non-polarized capacitors (4.7uF) in place of the recommended polarized capacitors is acceptable for the LM2664M6/NOPB? It is important for us to ensure that these capacitors meet the necessary voltage and capacitance specifications to ensure proper operation of our circuit.

Additionally, if there are any specific considerations or alternative recommendations you could provide regarding capacitor selection for this application, we would greatly appreciate your expert advice.

Thank you very much for your assistance. I look forward to your response at your earliest convenience.

 Regards,

Sathiya

  • Hi

The capacitor is okay as soon as the effective value under the expected voltage is still above 3.3uF. Also the ESR is small enough to cut down the power loss.
