BQ78350-R1: Sense Resistor

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Tool/software:

1) If the Sense register is changed to 0.75mΩ or 0.5mΩ, is there any point to change in the Data Memory settings?
    Is calibration alone sufficient?

2) What is the "Requested Learning cycle count" in Data Memory about?

Regards,
Kagawa

  • Hi Kagawa,

    1) Calibration only should be needed. Please ensure that the voltage across the SRP/SRN with the new sense resistor is still within the bounds of the specification, which I believe are -200mV to 200mV.

    2) After a FCC update occurs, the gauge will continue to count the amount of cycles completed through cycle count. Once the amount of cycles completed exceeds the value set by Requested Learning Cycle Count, the gauge will set the GaugingStatus() [CF] bit. CF being set to 1 means that a conditioning cycle is requested to be done for the gauge.

  • Hi Anthony-san,

    About FCC Learn Down/Up parameters.

My understanding is that if the learned FCC value is smaller FCC Lean Down or larger FCC Lean Up than the previous FCC value, the FCC will not be updated. Is this correct?

    Kagawa

Your understanding of the FCC Lean Down and FCC Lean Up parameters is correct.
