Hi,
I want to replace a DB9 connector with a USB receptacle in a GATEWAY(provides 3.3V), even though I am not actually talking USB (I dont want to use the USB protocol, only the PHYSICAL INTERFACE).
It is a USB A .
The thing is , in that receptacle a USB type A PLUG will be include, but this USB(plug) connector is in a device that only understand serial communication too.
So, the device only works with the Gateway.
My problem is when the user put this device in other machine instead of the gateway. What could be the device that block the VDD of other machine (>3.3V) and compatible with USB and serial?
