TPS2HCS10-Q1: Switching the HSS using SPI to act as PWM

Part Number: TPS2HCS10-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a question regarding the TPS2HCS10-Q1.

Would there be any issues that I should consider while designing, if I need to use the High Side Switch to generate a PWM signal.

I would want to use SPI to turn the High Side Switch on and off to act as PWM, in the frequency range 50-200 Hz.

Thanks and regards,

Akhil

  • Akhil,

The device has a PWM mode where you can set the frequency/duty cycle:

When PWM mode is enabled, when you enable the switch's channel it will automatically PWM without the need to spam SPI write commands. We would only support the frequencies listed in the GUI screenshot above.

    Best Regards,
    Tim
