TPS745-Q1: TPS74512PQWDRVRQ1 En Pin

Part Number: TPS745-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

For TPS74512PQWDRVRQ1 1.2V fixed o/p LDO , can we have the Enable voltage greater than the VIN supply i/p Voltage ,in my case Vin is 1.8V ,  Enable to the LDO is connected to a GPIO with 3.3V logic.

I am afraid of any clamp diode inside LDO's  EN pin  that would clamp because of higher En voltage than the Vin.

Regards,

Harish.S

  • Hello Harish,

    Thank you for your question.

Yes, it is okay to have the EN voltage be larger than the input voltage.

Please make sure that there is enough of a differential between Vin and Vout for the LDO to regulate properly.

    Best,

    Hannah
