TPS63070: HICCUP mode - Shorting two power rails

Dear Forum,

I'm designing a board using two TPS63070, respectively one for 3.3V and 5V, forced in PWM mode. I have a TPS2121 before the common current/voltage source to both TPS63070s.

I'm looking for a dumbed down protection if these two rails are shorted together, as the device might be handled by non-proficient users.

What would be the most efficient way to do this? I don't see any cycle-by-cycle protection implemented on silicon.

Sorry, i deleted your reply here by mistake.

Yes, i got your message. and i want know what kind of protect do you want if 3.3V is connected to 5V directly. Averange input current limit is not enough for you, right?

No worries.
This is what I've added by LM66100 .

This should protect outputs accessible by the users as headers from rail shorts.

Let me know if it looks like it should solve the issue.

Hi Jacopo,

I think it depend on what kind of protect you want. EX, if you just want no device damaged when 3.3V and 5V connected togther, i think without LM66100 should be ok too.
