LM3409EVAL: Seeking LED Driver for Medical Equipment Use.

Part Number: LM3409EVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3409

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team,

I am currently in need of an LED driver that can meet specific requirements. The driver should be capable of delivering a maximum output exceeding 1.0A and support low-level analog dimming (0~10%).

The application I’m working on requires a 1 Amp LED driver that offers analog dimming and emits low noise, as it is intended for use in medical equipment. The driver should be capable of operating 4 LEDs simultaneously.

At present, I am utilizing the LM3409 demo board. However, I am encountering issues with output ripple and an inability to achieve zero current with analog dimming.

I am wondering if anyone has encountered similar issues and found solutions to these problems.

Ultimately, my goal is to find a driver that can provide an output ranging from 0 to 1A. If anyone has recommendations for a suitable IC or any technical documentation that could assist me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Please note that I intend to implement analog dimming using a potentiometer.

  • Hi Siddharth,

    • Have you captured the waveforms of the issue, like Iout, Viadj, COFF, SW? and what is your test setup or test condition? please provide more details about this test issue.
    • From my understanding, only analog dimming - 0%-10% is required for your application, what is your end equipment and input/output voltage? please share more application info for better recommendation.

    BR,

    Hailee.
