Hi,

I have a questions regarding BQ35100 power consumption in Accumulator Mode.

In the datasheet Section 6.3 it stated that the average current 0.3uA ( shown below )

What does average here means? Does the 0.3uA is the average current when GE == High and GaugeStart() is not sent yet ( no coulomb counting ) ?

Hello Aldwin,

This is the average current consumption over a certain period when using the accumulator mode. So this average includes states when the GaugeStart has been sent about every 30 mins and GE is low at other times. It is the average for that specific use case.

To clarify, does this means 50% duty cycle? where GaugeStart() to GaugeStop() time is 30 minutes and the next 30 minutes is GE == LOW?

Hello Aldwin,

No, the actual timing is not specified. However, this use case would be closer to 1 minute between GaugeStart to GaugeStop and 29 minutes of GE == LOW
