BQ27Z561: bq27z561 learning cycle question

Hey Craig,

Can you send me a log file of the learning cycle attempt. Can you also send me the gg file from the gauge. I want to see if there needs to be any changes to any parameters.

These were the settings:

Design Capacity mAh = 3400mAh x 4 = 13600 mAh
Design Capacity cWh = (3.6v)x(3400mAh)x4 = 4896 cWh
Design Voltage = 3600mV
Term Voltage = 2670mV (NOTE: This is the pack cutoff for learning mode, and must be updated to system cutoff AFTER LEARNING.
Charge Term Taper Current 300mA
Dsg (discharge) Current Threshold =2mA
Chg (charge) Current Threshold =25 mA
Quit Current Threshold =1 mA
BQSTUDIO CHEMISTRY: Chem_ID 2162, (NOTE: read back with CHEM_ID COMMAND, will equal 0x2162-That is HEX), ALSO a checksum that can be verified…), corresponds to INR18650-35E (3400mAh)


I cutoff charge at 272mA (cutoff current*4, as our pack is 4p), I feel I could up the taper to 400mA and kill it at 272mA and give the gauge a little more room between taper current and cutoff current.

Hello Craig,

The gg file consists of all the updated dataflash parameters.

You can export a gg file by going to the data memory section and clicking on the export button.

This helps us look at all the flags and the updated parameters.

Also, is your pack using a 1s4p configuration?

yeah 1s4p (4 parallel cells, no stacked series).

I don't think I have access to that file anymore. Was flown in to perform the process in a lab...but I didn't know of the gg file being significant.

I looked over the log file you sent and the log only included the initial discharge. We need to see the rest and then charge after the initial discharge to determine why the learning cycle failed.

that's the .err file. Change the postfix to .csv for upload. Did not save it as an excel.

I don't need to see the .err file. I need to see the log file that includes data for the whole duration of the learning cycle until it fails. For reference the log file you sent a while back does not include the charging portion of the learning cycle
