For the typical application schematic, can discharge resistor be 0603 package? How can we calculate the power consumption?

Hello Jiawei,

Section 10.3.11.1 of the TPS2583xA-Q1 Data Sheet recommends using a 0805 resistor for both the external FET current limit mode and the buck average current limit mode. The 0805 is recommended as this resistor is used for damping. For your second question, could you please clarify what you mean by power consumption in this case?
