TPS25730: Default Behaviour Setting

Part Number: TPS25730

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are considering the TPS25730D for our design. Our understanding is that the default operation, including the settings for voltage and current limits, is established using the ADCINx pins. Therefore, without requiring an external micro-controller to access the I2C registers, the device will consistently operate according to the default configurations set via the external resistor dividers of ADCINx pins. Is this interpretation correct?

  • Hi Binyamin,

Yes, your interpretation is correct. TPS25730 does not require an external EEPROM or EC to load any configurations via I2C, the PD controller itself will boot and load a default configuration based on the ADCINx resistor pin strapping. Table 8-1 (see screenshot below) shows the resistor pin strapping decoded to digital value (applies for all ADCINx pins)

Table 8-3 through Table 8-6 shows the voltage/current configuration for each of the ADCINx pins.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Raymond,

    Thanks for the response.

  • Hi Binyamin,

You're welcome, I'll go ahead and close this thread. If you need further support please go ahead and open a new e2e ticket so we have better tracking, you can link this thread if it's related.

    Thanks and Regards,
