BQ79656-Q1: How to know IC is damaged or burnt or short

Hi Sudhir,

Are these the voltages you are reporting when trying to communicate with the BQ79656? Could you please provide more information on what was changed that suddenly caused the IC to stop communicating?

IC can be damaged by a multitude of reasons such as ESD or short. There could be potential visible signs of damage but sometimes one cannot detect it by just looking. It is up to your best judgement if it is damaged or there is simply a communication error.

Yes  these are the voltages reporting when i trying to communicate with the BQ79656.

When i connect NTC after that every thing is stop.

Would disconnecting NTC allow for communication again? Could you describe the setup as well if possible.

Even after disconnecting NTC communication not established.

 BQ79656-Q1  is used as stack device and giving 24V input through power board (110v to 24v)  

and I can communicate with the bridge device but not with stack device (only 1 device is used as a stack device).

After replacing BQ79656-Q1 IC everything is OK but i am getting this fault FAULT_SYS [DRST](Indicates a digital reset has occurred).

Can you explain what does it mean.
