TPS23730: Turning off the TPS23730 via a power switch or logic control

Part Number: TPS23730
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-050045

Tool/software:

We would like to implement a power switch of some sorts that can turn power off to our system by disabling the TPS23730.  We have implemented the TIDA-050045 reference design and would like input on how we could best design in a way to disable the PoE circuit to remove power to the rest of our device.  Do you have suggestions on how this might best be achieved?

  • Hi Chris,

    Thanks for reaching out!

One way to hold the PoE PD's hotswap off is pulling DEN-VSS to low. You can split the DEN resistor (~25k) to two separate resistors, and make the center tie to a optocoupler.

Please find below page for more details.

    Best regards,

    Diang
