Hello,
Has anyone used the BQ24610 or BQ24617 to charge NIMH batteries? I need the DPM feature because I have a medical grade qualified AC adapter that puts out 1.5amps and the system uses 1 amp when on and I would like to charge 12 batteries at 1amp. This charger also has the safety timer and NTC input so it has all the features I need. I was thinking about tying the ISET1 pin to the ISET2 pin and setting them for 1 amp. If figure the charger would start a precharge at 1 amp, see the voltage rise, go to full charge at 1 amp and when the battery voltage reaches the set point it would go into the terminate mode. As soon as it entered the terminate mode, it would see the battery drawing 1 amp and would immediately terminate. Do you think this would work? I know normally you terminate NIMH on a negative delta or temp rise but I am happy at a fixed voltage.
Thanks, Ed
