TPS25750: Device customization tool

Hi, 

I was using the TPS25750D with the BQ25731. When using the application customization tool, the bin file generated does not work. When I posted about this, it was later suggested to use the TPS25751D instead. This part's application customization tool still does not support the BQ25731, though a bin file for use with the BQ25731 was supplied and it worked. This issue is that we are currently going into production and the TPS25731D is out of stock practically everywhere. In this regards, is it possible to generate a working bin file for the TPS25730D working with the BQ25731?

    Hi Darren, 

    The TPS25730D does not have the ability to control a battery charger. This is a resistor configurable sink only PD controller. A firmware image can not be loaded onto it. 

    For the TPS25751D, we should have some additional material get stocked in the TI store end of next month.

    Hi Adam, 

    Thanks for your reply. I think you have misread my post. I was referring to the TPS25750D and not the TPS25730D. From other posts, I saw that some managed to get an image to work for the BQ25730. Is it possible to be supplied with an image with the required setting at least for our first batch until the TPS25751D becomes largely available ?

    I think there was a typo in the original post, thank you for the clarification. 

    As for the image with the TPS25750, unfortunately we cannot provide this. We are focusing our time and effort into the new TPS25751 device. It sounds like you have this working on the TPS25751 but just need components. Understand that they are currently out of stock but we are building up a new inventory that should be available before the end of next month.

    You're right. Sorry for my typo.

    As you said, I do have this working on the TPS25751D and I'm just waiting for the devices. Thanks for the info. As a side note, I am working with the BQ25731 charger and so far, the Customization Tool for the TPS25751D does not let me choose this device. For now, I was supplied with a bin file to use for the TPS25731 and it worked perfectly. I would need slightly different versions due to different charging currents on different product versions. Is there any plan when the customization tool will support the BQ25731 and if not, can I request the bin files I need?
