TPS65987D: 2s timeout on I2c SCL

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

bq76942 TRM says there is a 2s timeout on I2c SCL pin held low that resets the communication interface.

Does this device also support the 9 clocks with SDA held low to exit a potential i2c bus lockup?

(Customer is also working with bq25703A, TPS65987D)

Regards

Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

The I2C timeout is configurable through the GUI, navigate to the Global System Configuration (register 0x27) and select the drop down for I2C Timeout:

If TPS65987D is the I2C master and the far-end I2C slave is holding the line, we will wait indefinitely since the I2C slave may be clock stretching.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Raymond Lin
