LM5143: Convert LM5143 to CV/CC converter with adjustable voltage and current

Part Number: LM5143
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5141, LM5190-Q1, LM5190

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am trying to make a MPPT charge controller with the LM5143, i would like to convert the LM5143 in a CV/CC converter.

The software would change the charge current to find the optimal power point.

I first started with the LM5141, this was ideal because you can disable the HICCUP mode and the error amplifier is an transconductance amplifier which i can take over with a external circuit

This worked fine in PSpice and i also made a test PCB and everything works fine, however the output voltage can be max 15V what`s just to low for me.

The battery needs to be charged until 14.6V so there is almost no headroom anymore.

After that i found the LM5143, this seems ideal to me (is dual phase converter but i only need 1 phase).

But i struggle to keep it stable, especially with the voltage loop.

I designed the voltage loop to have a bandwidth of 10KHz with the power stage designer tool but i see some instability

Is it possible to assist to solve this issue?

Kind Regards

Alexander
