BQ27621-G1: Battery replacement with a system-side gauge

Part Number: BQ27621-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27441-G1

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team,

There are many system-side gauges for single cells, such as BQ27621-G1, BQ27441-G1 or etc.

Please provide information on the general functions and algorithms.

Suppose you have a board with one of the system-side gauges and a battery that goes with it.
If the battery you replace is not new and has some deterioration (e.g. SoH 85%), will the remaining battery information be correct for the connected battery after just a few charge/discharges and automatic ImpedanceTrack operations without manual settings?

Or is there no such shortcut and you have to understand and operate each gauge's unique procedures and modes of operation?

Regards,
Hitoshi
