BQ79616-Q1: Slave does not go to sleep

Hello there,

I am working with a BQ79600 and BQ79616 System, this works most of the time but sometimes i get the issue that one slave does not shutdown after the communication time out. I tried also implementing a Shutdown or Hardware Reset Ping in the Boot Sequence but that does not resolve this issue either. The only solution that works is to disconnect the slave from Power Supply and reconnect it then it works just fine.

Hello Lukas,

Are you sure you are not communicating to the stack in anyway? Perhaps you have polling or something running?

Please verify that the top of your stack is configured as much. This can be confirmed through address 0x308.

Also verify that CTS_TIME = 000 for all devices.

This sounds like perhaps you do not have stable communication to the BQ79616. Is there anything on the hardware side that can point to communication issue?

Dear Quentin,

i have attached how the devices are set up on the hardware side. For the software side of things i set the values according to your request in my code but, as we are currently trying to fix the issue i am currently not able to test wether the values are saved into the register, but i will keep you updated on that site.

Hello Lukas,

I will take a look at your schematic. You may also need to monitor the communication to the stack device via an oscilloscope to see if the communication is being sent properly.
