UCD90160A: PEC Byte Disable

Part Number: UCD90160A

Tool/software:

Hi,

UCD9016 PMBUS is interfaced with FPGA, FPGA (Soft IP)  is not support PEC implementation.

Hence FPGA is stopping the transaction before PEC byte transaction . This causes issue in I2C read and write.

Is there any option to disable PEC byte transaction at Device side.

Thanks & regards,

Divya

  • Hi, Divya,

PEC byte is optional. There is no option to disable PEC byte at device side. PMBus host can either send PMBus commands with or without PEC byte. We recommend PEC byte so device can validate the data sent over the bus. If no PEC byte, it is up to PMBus host  to ensure the integrity of the data.
