TPS61046: Recommended boost regulator for 12V output

I'm looking for a boost regulator to convert from a battery pack of 3.6V Li-ion to 12V-14V output with the best possible efficiency and no external rectifier diode. The regulator is for powering a group of 4-20ma

sensors so the current output have to go from 25 to 125mA in a first prototype.

What is the regulator that you can offer me for this work. The packaging has to be the smallest possible. The regulators that I have pre selected are LM4510 and TPS61046 and they seem fine for my application

but if you have more suitable parts for this application I will appreciate your suggestions

Hi Ignacio,

TPS61046 can't output 125mA when Vin = 3.6V and Vout = 14V.

For your application, TPS61372 should be the better choice for it's higher output capability (>125mA), higher efficiency than TPS61046, and also in small WCSP package.

Thank you for your prompt response! Please tell me if this regulator can work and provide the asked voltage and current from 3V to 4.2V (which are the battery operating voltages)

Hi Ignacio,

Yes, TPS61372 can provide 25 to 125mA when Vin = 3V to 4.2V and Vout = 12V to 14V.

The max Iout is around 450mA when Vin = 3V and Vout = 14V.

Sorry I just correct one typo in my previous reply. The correct reply should be "... when Vin = 3V to 4.2V", not "... when Vin = 4V to 4.2V".
