Hello,
There is not a specific spec for the ST pin but the SNS response time is about 50us. The ST pin is expected to have a response time comparable to that of the SNS pin. Does that work for you?
Thanks,
Alan
Hi Alan,
Our customer has provided feedback that they are measuring a 2ms response time for the Short Time (ST) function by overcurrent.
Could you perform an actual test on the Evaluation Module (EVM) to measure the trigger overcurrent to ST response time, or contact the design team to provide a definitive time?
Thanks
Xiaoxiang
Hello,
I measured a 19us response time in lab.
What version of the device is the customer using?
Do they have a waveform and schematic?
Best,
Alan
Hi Alan,
Thanks for your help. Here is the SCH.
Could you help to review it.
Thanks

Hello,
How is the device being loaded to measure response time? In addition, It is recommended to use the TPS1HC100 device rather than the TPS1H100 it is a newer more cost-effective component.
Best,
Alan
Hi Alan,
The customer manually shorts the output to GND using a wire, which may introduce errors. This is not done with an electronic load. Can you explain your testing method? I'll also have the customer measure on their board.
We are also concurrently recommending the customer to use the TPS1HC100-Q1.
And Could there be an issue with their schematic?
Thanks
Xiaoxiang
Hello,
The device was tested on an EVM. 18V on the input, current limit set to 1A, resistive load set to trigger current limit and flag ST pin. The device we tested detects an open load when the device is both off (if the FET VDS < about 2.5V) and on (if the load current is <8mA). So, a 1k load was placed in parallel to start the test. After the device is running the 18 Ohm load is connected to trigger CL and pull ST low.
Measured IOUT high to ST low.
There is no issue seen in schematic.
Best,
Alan
