Hi Cameron,
Due to the Boost converter RHPZ, large inductance will have potential stability risk. The worst case will be the Boost converter operating under the maximum load. So I would suggest customer validate their design with heavy load.

Any advice how they can validate? I’m thinking a venable FRA or looking at load step ringing.
any guidance to test stability?
Hi Cameron,
Because this part integrates the feedback net, so it is hard to run loop test directly.
The load transient could be a reference of the loop stability. And monitor SW to see whether there will be obviously duty cycle change is also available.

Patrick, do you or the team have any stability or design calculators for this device?
(Sorry if I’m missing it somewhere)
thanks! This is looking like the best device for this design
Hi Cameron,
Unfortunately we don't have such calculation tool for this device. But I can help to run some bench tests with EVM to provide reference for customer.

That's ok, no need! EVM is on the way to customer so they can test with their inductors, I will review the switch node ringing for stability, then I will ask for your thoughts on the waveforms as well. Thank you!
Hi Cameron,
Our expert is currently out of office. He will reply to you next Monday. Thanks for your understanding.
Best Regards,
