CSD95492QVM: Is CSD95495QVM drop in compatible for design and performance in place of CSD95492QVM

Part Number: CSD95492QVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD95495QVM,

Tool/software:

Hello TI team,

BOM and design calls out for CSD95492QVM but we have CSD95495QVM part in-stock.

Based on initial comparison, it looks like *5QVM part is rated for 50A compared to *2QVM part (only 20A).

Please help clarify below questions:

1. Can we still populate the *5QVM part in place of *2QVM?

2. Does it affect electrical performance and long-term reliability?

Thank you,

Harsh

  • Hi Harsh,

You should be ok to use the *5QVM part in place of the *2QVM.

There shouldn't be any reliability concerns but depending on the use case, you may see a change in efficiency as the *5QVM is slightly more efficient at different Vin and with smaller inductors, while the *2QVM is slightly more efficient at lower loads.

    Best Regards,

    Nash
