UCC21732: Waveform not follow the input pulse signal

Part Number: UCC21732

Tool/software:

Hello Experts,

I just tested the UCC21732 gate driver in PSpice for TI with a single SiC Mosfet. Below is a display of my circuit and its results. I gave a pulse signal to the gate driver. I am expecting relatively the same output on the gate driver and its inverse on SiC MOSFET, but as you see in the waveform, it is not a sharp fall and sharp rise like in the input/pulse wave form.

Is that okay, or where did I miss?

Besides, R10 is my load; its value is 5 ohm; if I change it to another value, it becomes no simulation. Can you explain this?

Thanks
Biruk

  • Hi Biruk,

You have 1k gate resistors, which severely extend the RC constant for charging the gate. Try using 1-10 ohms instead.

You should use a different power rail for you NMOS than you use for the gate driver. Maybe when you turn the NMOS on it is shorting out your supply and causing an error.

    Best regards,

    Sean
