TPS6594-Q1: Programming using MSP432E401Y LaunchPad

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP432E401Y

Tool/software:

Dear TI,

the final answer in this thread says that

a) "MSP432E401Y LaunchPad" is not recomended for PMIC programming and

b) the kit "it doesn't have the hardware in place to readily communicate with the PMIC"

To a) The first dialog that PMIC GUI displays is:

Why do you recomend the MSP launchpad in the readme when it is not truely supported?

To b) What hardware is missing on the launchpad?

Thanks for information

Marek

  • Hi Marek,

Thanks for the feedback, we'll take this as a note to update that readme.

In the other thread you linked, the hardware that is missing is more that there is not an easy way to make the direct connections between the Launchpad and the PMIC, rather you end up having to wire it up. It is more reliable to use the EVM board which is configured specifically for this purpose.

    Regards,

    Katie
