Dear sir,

we have been using BQ25730 battery charger IC in our project.

when input power source is turned ON while the system is operating on battery we are experiencing the system restart during that transition. though it is not repeating all the time but we could appreciate your support to solve this issue.

output voltage during restart is fluctuating for around 300 nano secs and the same voltage dip is propagating to the other DC-DC converters as a result controller is restarting.

Dear sir,

below are the attached wave forms captured during the reset scenario. The same voltage transient is passing through other DC-DC converter and controller is restarting .

Image 1 is the waveform captured at the output of BQ25730

Image 2 is the voltage on controller supply pin during reset of the controller.

Hi Raj,

I did not see any restart/reset in the plot. I see random spikes. For your information, BQ25730 is not fast enough to respond to 300ns perturbation.

Hi sir,

Actually because of this spike induced during turning ON the input source, the spike is propagating the bq25730 and passing through BQ25730 to the system(Micro controller) connected to BQ25730 as a result micro controller is restarting.

It is not BQ25730 IC that is resetting.

Hi Raj,

My only suggestion is to put more bypassing caps on the MCU, which is resetting.

Thanks for the suggestion sir...

Also earlier I started a thread for communication issues with BQ25730 for which your suggestion were included in our re-layout and the problem is eliminated.
