TPS62902: Datasheet Iq_psm vs Iq_pwm, unit given is uA vs mA

Hello TI Team, the datasheet states Iq_psm = 4uA, which is good for a low Iq device, but the line below states Iq_pwm is 8000 uA, namely 8 mA which is surprisingly high. Is the unit mA in the datasheet wrong or is it really 8mA Iq in that mode?

Hi Matt,

8mA is the input current for FPWM mode that means device is on-switching state with a set frequency.

Hi Colin, thanks for your reply, I was aware of the value specifying on-switching state, but I am still surprised because the device is advertised as low-Iq, 8000 uA is not low-Iq for me, other devices have below 100uA. That is why I suspected there may be an error in the datasheet.

Hi Matthias,

You can set device to PFM mode to lower the switching frequency, then you can find the input current will reduce much.
