Tool/software:
Hello,
Reaching out since the CAP_MIS pin seems to function incorrectly or differently than expected. No matter the attached supply, CAP_MIS will always sink current to GND and never toggles. The chip otherwise works perfectly, along with the SINK_EN pin working as intended. Below I listed our ADCIN settings and different testing scenarios to help explain the behavior. None of the issues are deal breaking or make our design non-functional, but they are quirks that I would like to understand the causes of. Thanks!
ADCIN1: 3, minimum 15V
ADCIN2: 7, maximum 20V
ADCIN3: 0, operating current 0.5A
ADCIN4: 6, maximum current 4A
65W USB-PD supply: CAP_MIS does not toggle, SINK_EN is enabled (pulled low). Works as intended.
USB 3.0 Type C (non-PD) on PC: CAP_MIS does not toggle, SINK_EN is enabled (pulled low). Does not work as intended - CAP_MIS should toggle. (SINK_EN should also disable? Unsure).
USB 2.0 Type A to USB-C: CAP_MIS does not toggle, SINK_EN is disabled (pulled high). Does not work as intended - CAP_MIS should toggle.
