Could TPS54824 withstand 100mS8.5A current?

How do we evaluate the output current ability in our Buck devices?

Hi Yishan,

The TPS54824 is able to handle a continuous output current of up tp 8A, however a short burst of higher current may be ok if it doesn't go past the table below (page 5 of datasheet):

Hi Yishan,

The recommended max IOUT as per table 6.3 in the datasheet is 8A. So it is not recommended to exceed 8A even if for a small burst. Please use it till 8A and if more current is required please use a higher current rated device.
