I am also interested in using the UCD3138 IC to design an isolated DC-DC boost converter with the following main characteristics:

Minimum input voltage 100 Vdc,

maximum input voltage 140 Vdc,

maximum input current 18A;

output voltage 600 Vdc,

output current 3.5 A.

Total output power 2KW.

What interests me the most is to know if the UCD3138 IC has the 'active current sharing' feature, so that I can connect multiple 2KW modules in parallel and thereby increase the output power.

    Hello Gianluca,

    Yes, the UCD3138x devices have an active current sharing feature. This features basically means a load share controller, like the UCC29002, is already integrated into the UCD3138. The UCD3138128 is the 80-pin variant and thus has the capability to directly control multiple stages in parallel. The TIDA-00653 is a good example, although it is non-isolated. In the TIDA-00653, a single UCD3138128 directly controls 4 different buck/boost stages in parallel, allowing for high power. The high-level system is shown below:

    If you are interested in an isolated DC/DC converter, then you can use an LLC or PSFB. Both the LLC EVM and the PSFB EVM have an ISHARE pin that allows you to load share with other modules. See the below screenshot in the LLC EVM schematic. You can also view our PMP40586 1kW LLC converter reference design. You can scale this design up to meet your needs.
