TPS1H000-Q1: can't recognize short to battery fault when IN is low

Hi team,

My customer is doing a eFuse box for NIO. And now they are testing TPS1H000-Q1 short to battery function but found some issue. 20k resistor has been added as pull-up from VIN to VOUT.

Vout is shorten to 12V bat: programmed flip IN every 5 seconds.

CH1：vin CH2：vout CH3：IN CH4：fault

Normal working :programmed flip IN every 5 seconds.

CH1：vin CH2：vout CH3：IN CH4：fault

Please help to share how to recognize short to battery fault.

Not that it would make a huge difference- but we do recommend the pull-up resistance to be 15kOhm in the datasheet.

What is the state of DIAG_EN in this test? This must be pulled high in order to activate diagnostics.

This DIAG_EN is high. I will let them try 15kohms.Do you have other recommendations?

Josh,

The main suspect here would be the pull-up resistor value. You can recreate the open load behavior on the EVM by making sure J13 is populated and plugging in the battery to T5 (as well as T1).
