TLC5922: Recommended Level-Shifter for TCL5922

Part Number: TLC5922

Tool/software:

I have to drive the TLC5922 with a 30MHz SCLK @ Vcc=3.3V from a driver with VOH=2.2V and VOL=630mV. This is below the TLC5922 requirement of VIH>0.8*3.3=2.64V and VIL<0.2x3.3=660mV. It should be possible to use a level-shifter with LVTTL input levels, but what output level standards fits to the TLC5922 input levels? Can anyone suggest a suitable level-shifter for this setup?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Bgodk,

I think maybe you should submit a e2e to level-shifter, not LED driver.

But from my side, I think you can just choose a level shift to transfer the voltage to 3.3V will be fine.

  • Hi Jared

Thank you for your quick reply!

Think you are right! I am looking at a 74LVC1T45 type which has VIH/VIL =2.0/0.8V and VOH=2.4V(VCC=3.0V) @ Io=-24mA, this is a bit on the low side , but with Vcc=3.3V the VOH should be close to 2.7V and if the Io is reduced to a few uA (as it should be for the TLC5922)  the VOH would probably be close to 3.3V minus a few mV I suppose!? So the high input impedance in the TLC5922 saved me, I think :-)

    Thank for your help.
