I am planning a system where alt mode will be used (TUSB1146/TUSB1064).
In addition to the option of transferring video over USB, I will need PD controllers.
I need the system to work at a voltage of 20V (can support 15V and 9V, currently 5V is my limit) and a maximum current of 1A (20V => 20W).
I need that on the sink side, the system will know how to wake up by itself at the moment the cable is connected and the voltage is applied.
I need the system on the source side to detect that a sink device is connected and allow current to flow into the system (cable detection?)
I would be happy to receive recommendations for components both on the sink side and on the source side that would meet the requirements and go at the same time with the alt mode components.
In addition, I need the DP/DN lines free for me to transfer general information between the end devices.

Hi Raymond,

Does it support working on different voltage level inputs without hardware changes ? (20V/15V/9V)

Is there a minimum current that must flow on the path?

Do you have reference design according to my application?

Hi Yoav,

TPS65987DDK is able to support up to 100W (20V/5A) DRP applications, this device comes with two internal high voltage power paths and additionally you can add optional external power paths as well. TPS65987DDK will negotiate with the connected port partner to determine the power role (source/sink) and power requirement (voltage/current).

There is no minimum current that is required to flow through the path, the current limitation is based on each user's system requirement.
