I'm using the LMR14030 for a source design (Vo 4V).
The source will be used for supply different modules, an RF module included, the Irms in the circuit is about 1A but the RF module can hit 2 - 2.5A.
The question is, for the design, should Io_max be 1A or 2.5A? and, what could be a suggested transient response for Io.

Hi Christian,

IO should be the maximum that your module is expected to consume. If the RF module can hit 2-2.5 A, then the Io Max should be 2.5 A.

In terms of transient performance, this is largely a factor of the customer's chosen output capacitance and is subject to your design requirements. Section 8.2.2.4 of the datasheet outlines this in details with equations to estimate the expected transient performance. Please note that if the overshoot/undershoot is too strong, the device may trigger its overvoltage protection. These limits can be found in section 7.3.11 of the datasheet.
