TPS2HCS10-Q1: thermal calculation

Part Number: TPS2HCS10-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is considering to use TPS2HCS10-Q1 in a ZCU project. They are evaluating the thermal performance of the device. In their application, only 1 channel of TPS2HCS10-Q1 is used and the current is 12A, Tamb = 105°C. I calculate TJ by RJθA: TJ = 105°C + 0.011*12*12*33 = 157.3°C, which exceeds the max TJ.

And there is a app note below the table: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spra953c/spra953c.pdf. According to the app note, it's an invalid usage of RJθA. However, the other calculating methods need PCB or package temperature.

Could you help calculate or test whether TPS2HCS10-Q1 can operate under 12A/105°C Tamb?

Thanks!

BR,

Grey
