TPS25730: tps25730d datasheet conflicts

Part Number: TPS25730

Tool/software:

We're working with the tps25730d. The datasheet indicates pins 26, 27, 36 should be tied to either ground or the LDO. But when working with the evaluation module and looking into the users guide we notice that the TPS25730EVM schematic indicates pin 36 is a fault out and pins 26 and 27 are not tied to either ground or the LDO but divided down 1/2. What is the proper functionality?

  • The datasheet is correct. Pins 26, 27, and 36 should be tied to GND or LDO_3V3.

While diving 26 and 27 does not cause issues on the EVM, we recommend tying to GND or LDO_3V3 instead. And pin 36 is no longer FAULT_OUT. I will have this corrected in the EVM User's Guide.

  • Although the eval board schematic indicates its being divided down, the resistors are actually not populated so those 2 pins, 26 and 27, are actually floating. In your previous answer you recommended tying them to ground or LDO, do you have any justification for that? Will we have problems if those pins are left floating like they are in the eval board?

  • resistors labelled R36 and R37 on the EVM silk screen (R29 and R76 on the schematic), pull downs for pins 26 and 27, are populated on the EVM and connected to GND.
