Hello Beginner,
The smallest resistor value that you can utilize will also depend on your MOSFET selection, however, it is not recommended below 100 ohms to provide some isolation for the pin from the current path. Chapter 7 CHG Driver Current Paths in the application note, Multiple FETs with the BQ76952/BQ76942, may help further with that.
