Hi I have question for the replacement parts for the inductor and capacitors used in the example shown on figure 8.9 on the data sheet of TPS6104x. I am unable to find the exact parts as given in the example, so I am thinking to replace the parts. Can you please suggest the part replacement I need Vout= 6.5 V and 500mA.

Hi Bhawya,

The max Iout for TPS6104X is much less than 500mA. Please provide the Vin range and other detailed requirements so we can find a more suitable device for your application.

The output goes to the transistor which is rated 600mA max, I dont exactly how much Iout I might need. Is there a way to find out?

Hi Bhawya,

The boost device provides a stable Vout, 6.5V in your application. The next stage or circuits that connected to the 6.5V Vout decides how much current will be extracted from the 6.5V Vout. We call this current as the "Iout".

As long as the "Iout" is less than the maximum Iout that the boost device can provided, than it is OK.

The max Iout is critical for selecting the device.
