UCD90120 GUI and UCD9081 GUI on the same PC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9081, UCD90120

We are using both the UCD90120 and UCD9081. I have installed the GUI for the UCD90120 (TI-Fusion-Digital-Power-Designer-1.8.95) and the GUI for the UCD9081 (UCD9081-EVM-GUI-3.0.0.15) on the same PC runnning Windows 7 Professional. My problem is that the GUI for the UCD9081 does not work, and it reports "No EVM found". I have measured on the I2C bus and there is no activity at all. I installed the UCD9081 GUI on another older Win XP PC, and that works fine i.e. I'm able to program my UCD9081.

Any ideas?

  • The UCD9081 GUI will not run on Windows 7 platforms (unfortunately) and at this time TI doesn't have a plan to update the GUI. Also, the UCD9081 firmware isn't PMBus compatible and as such cannot be supported with the Fusion tools which do operate on Windows 7.

Multiple UCD90120's can operate from a single PC with one instance of Fusion.
