Hi team,

My customer is having question about the device as following.

Is BQ78350-R1A a physical IC or just a firmware that I can use in BQ78350-R1 IC? There are R2 and R3 versions of the firmware and can be used on BQ78350-R1 IC.

The R1 version FW does not say it is R1A but the TRM in the same page is R1A. Can they use this for their B78350-R1 IC and effectively becomes called R1A version of if it is a physical IC, then they need to change the IC mounted on the PCB?

Could you please advise?

Hi Hung,

If customer has the physical IC with top marking BQ78350-R1, they can simply upload the BQ78350-R1A firmware on the device.

Version R2 and R3 are FW versions that can also be loaded on BQ78350-R1 IC. No need to replace the physical IC on PCB.
