Hi Jacky,
There's no negative current limit function on this device. Thanks.
Hi Shipeng,
Thanks for the feedback, if no negative current limit function inside, can you help to share what's the negative current rating can be allowed for TPS564201?
Thanks.
Hi Jacky,
As TPS564201 is Eco mode device, so when current reaches zero, the low side MOSFET will turn off to prevent negative current. So there's no negative current on this device.
Hi Shipeng,
This is not the case for Eco-mode. Based on our experience in past, customer used the DVS function to control FB pull down voltage, so under some cases, even in FCCM mode, the DC/DC will behavior with negative current, please refer to below TPS56628 real test waveform for example. So please help to double confirm with design team to confirm the penitential negative current handling capability for TPS564201 device.
Thanks.
Hi Jacky,
The device is 4A rating, so considering MOSFET loss, negative current less than 4A is OK. But TPS564201 is Eco mode device, so it will turn off low side MOSFET when inductor current crosses zero.
