BQ25303J: STAT pin

Part Number: BQ25303J

Tool/software:

Hi,
Table 9.2 in the datasheet states that the STAT INDICATOR is high in HiZ mode, sleep mode, and charge disable.
Table 9.3 in the datasheet states that the REGN LDO is off and the STAT PIN is open in HiZ mode, sleep mode, and charge disable.
If the STAT pin is pulled up by REGN as described in Table 7.1 of the datasheet, will the state of the STAT pin follow Table 9.2?
(According to Table 9.3, the state of the STAT pin is considered to be indefinite.)
Why must the STAT pin be pulled up by REGN?
If my understanding of the indefinite state is correct and the STAT pin is pulled up by REGN, I believe that HiZ mode, sleep mode, and charge disable cannot be correctly determined.
Would any problems occur if the STAT pin was pulled up not by REGN but by a power supply that is output even when REGN is off?
Regards,
