Tool/software:

We have developed a 4S1P Smart battery pack .

In this when we have connected to our device and when run the device in battery mode we get a SM bus error (Where we get some unknown values randomly on the temperature parameters)

We read the battery data for every 1second and we log the battery status once every 10second

Kindly help us to solve the issue.

Hello,

Can you please go more into depth about how this temperature register is being read out? Is bqStudio and EV2400 being used or is a custom MCU?

Are other registers other than the specific one being correctly read out?

We are using a STM32 micro controller and a Smart Bus charger IC .Battery , charger and MCU are connected with Smbus lines. We are reading the parameters from battery through MCU,While logging the data at times it is throwing out some junk values irrespective at any parameter of battery. Now we have observed in temperature.

We are reading Voltage current RSOC battery status temperature.

Hi Max,

Since you are reading in 1s and 10s increments detailed above, has it been confirmed that there are no collisions occurring on the SMBus lines?

In the image above, is the temperature reading from the gauge detailed in red?

Is it possible to scope the communication lines to see if the correct information is being sent to the gauge at this time for the temperature reading?
