To follow up on the following topic "BQ34Z100-G1: MaxError evolution - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums":

Here, the cycle with rest periods 30min instead of 30s. Chg 8A - Dsg 7A_profil client_30min_x4_08-24.log

As recall, the cycle with rest periods 30s : Chg 8A - Dsg 7A_profil client_2.log.

As you can see, with rest period of 30min, MaxError come back to 1% sometimes (I'm not sure to understand the condition to have 1%).
And with rest period of 30s, MaxError continue to increase until ... 100 ?

Can you help us understand why the BQ34z100 cannot find a 100% MaxError with rest periods of 30s?

Hello Charles,

For max error to drop back down to 1% then there must have been an RA and Qmax update. After discussing with firmware team it is unlikely for maxerror to rise all the way to 100% through a forcing method like you are trying to do. If max error does eventually reach 100% and it was not because of a full reset then something wrong is going on with the gauge.

Ok. So, as I understand it, you confirm that with a short rest time the register increases faster than expected.

Moreover, does a full charge with a rest time of several hours not enought to have a Qmax Update ? (In the cycle with rest periods 30s, MaxError didn't return to 1%)

Hello Charles,

A few hours after a complete full charge should be enough for a Qmax update.

I thought the same thing, but as you can see on log Chg 8A - Dsg 7A_profil client_2.log., after 10 hours of rest, MAX ERROR did not go down to 1%...

Hello Charles,

Well it depends whether the discharge before qualifies for a Qmax update. The discharge before most likely did not qualify for a Qmax update which is why max error did not go down to 1%.
